Background: The xGID system evaluates the implementation and effectiveness of Nurse Demand Management (GID) in primary care centers across Catalonia. Its primary goal is to offer a diagnostic framework to assess the extent of GID adoption, provide actionable insights, and propose continuous improvement plans tailored to each center.
Objective: xGID aims to measure the degree of GID integration at primary care centers, ensuring enhanced patient care, optimized resource management, and empowered nursing practices. The system fosters collective intelligence by gathering and analyzing feedback from multidisciplinary teams.
Key Features:
- Diagnostic Surveys: The system uses a 19-question survey completed by center staff during guided sessions. Questions address personal and institutional perspectives, fostering immediate feedback and data-driven discussions.
- Real-Time Analysis: Responses are processed instantly, generating visual and quantitative results for participants to compare their input with team and organizational benchmarks.
- Dimensions of Evaluation: Data is synthesized into key variables and dimensions, providing granular insights at individual, team, and center levels.
Development and Impact:
- Participation Metrics: As of November 2024, 54 centers and 1,655 professionals have participated. Participants include nurses (43%), physicians (25%), and administrative staff (21%), reflecting diverse roles and perspectives.
- Regional Implementation: The system spans multiple health regions, with significant adoption in Girona and Barcelona Metropolitan areas.
- Actionable Outcomes: xGID generates center-specific reports with improvement recommendations, enabling tailored plans to address identified challenges and enhance GID practices.
Next Steps:
- Expansion Across Regions: Plans are underway to adapt xGID for use in other Spanish autonomous communities, with translations and localized content.
- Data Aggregation and Benchmarking: Future developments will include aggregated data analysis, allowing centers to benchmark performance against regional and national standards.
